Este case foi realizado como um projeto durante a minha pós graduação em UX Design e Usabilidade no Instituto Infnet, junto com outros 4 alunos da pós graduação.

Could video streaming help in learning a new language? What if there is a market segment that needs a feature to assist in learning a new language?
This case study was carried out as a project during my postgraduate studies in UX Design and Usability at Instituto Infnet, together with four other postgraduate students.

Após a desk research entendeu-se que os dois serviços de streaming mais utilizados são Netflix e Amazon Prime.
Além disso, notou-se um mercado para ser investido, já que os streamings podem ser utilizados durante a aprendizagem de um idioma.
Nas pesquisa descobrimos que:
O perfil do usuário em média de idade é de 25 a 34 anos.
Que o Brasil é o top 5 entre os usuários do mercado global nos streamings.
70% dos usuários utilizam dispositivos mobile para assistir streaming.
Que o comportamento dos usuários é criar listas entre a comunidade para melhor compreensão e aprendizado de idiomas, misturar o prazer de assistir com a necessidade de aprender.

After desk research, it was understood that the two most used streaming services are Netflix and Amazon Prime.
In addition, a market for investment was noted, since streaming can be used while learning a language.
In our research, we found that:
The average user profile is between 25 and 34 years old.
Brazil is among the top 5 users in the global streaming market.
70% of users use mobile devices to watch streaming content.
Users tend to create lists within the community to improve their understanding and language learning, combining the pleasure of watching with the need to learn.

Após a coleta dos dados, algumas entrevistas foram realizadas para determinar se tais suposições faziam sentido e para comprovar as pesquisas realizadas anteriormente. As entrevistas resultaram em alguns insights importantes tanto para o continuidade do projeto quanto para a criação da persona.
Este é Jefferson Nascimento, um estudante de 24 anos de Análise e Desenvolvimento de Sistemas, morador de São Paulo, capital. Que tem como objetivos:
Realizar intercâmbios
Se destacar no mercado de trabalho
Aprimorar seu conhecimento em inglês estudando a língua falada
Porém seu maior desafio é conciliar a rotina com a aprendizagem do idioma, sendo suas necessidades praticar a fala além da escrita e escuta e achar plataformas gratuitas.
Jefferson tem medos e receios, como:
Perder oportunidades por não saber inglês
Não ter prática na fala, ter muito sotaque
Esquecer o que já aprendeu anteriormente

After collecting the data, several interviews were conducted to determine whether these assumptions made sense and to corroborate previous research. The interviews yielded some important insights for both the continuation of the project and the creation of the persona.
This is Jefferson Nascimento, a 24-year-old student of Systems Analysis and Development, who lives in São Paulo, the state capital. His goals are:
To participate in exchange programs
To stand out in the job market
To improve his knowledge of English by studying the spoken language
However, his biggest challenge is balancing his routine with learning the language, as he needs to practice speaking in addition to writing and listening, and find free platforms.
Jefferson has fears and concerns, such as:
Missing opportunities because he doesn't know English
Not having practice in speaking, having a strong accent
Forgetting what he has already learned

Create a routine of watching a movie or series to learn something that day/week.
Learn new words and slang used in the language spoken by native speakers.
After:
Watch movies and series for entertainment and to learn the language you want to learn.
Take notes to remember what you learned during that movie/series.
